Face-to-Face Sessions for Fifth and Sixth Form Students
Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,
This morning a meeting was facilitated with the Honorable Minister Fayval Williams to seek further clarity on the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information’s position pertaining to the reopening of school, the vaccination of students and other related issues. This is in response to a correspondence sent on Friday, October 22, 2021, which indicated that secondary schools can participate in limited face-to-face engagement with senior students for expressed purposes of completing critical time-bound activities related to their external examinations and the completion of School Based Assessments (SBAs).
Therefore, in accordance with the Ministry’s guidelines, Munro College will facilitate face-to-face sessions for Fifth and Sixth Form Students ONLY, beginning on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. (Note that this is a provisional date as we still await final approval for reopening from the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. We will continue to provide updates throughout the week).
Kindly note that the schedule for assessment, lab and practical activities will be shared throughout the course of this week. In addition, the reopening activities will be conducted with strict adherence to the safety protocols established both by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the school’s administration.
Please note the following:
- Fifth and Sixth Form Boarders are to return to school on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 by 9:30 a.m. Each student must first proceed to the designated area for medical screening. Students will be required to show proof of vaccination. They will then proceed to the Administrative Office to get financial clearance for boarding before signing in with the Housemaster. Students without financial clearance will have to make alternative arrangements re their accommodation.
- Fifth and Sixth Form Day Students are to be at school by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 for registration and an information session.
- All Students will be required to follow the established health and safety guidelines. These guidelines include the observation of social distancing, the wearing of masks and the frequent washing of hands.
On behalf of the staff of Munro College, we thank you for your continued support and remain committed to helping your son/ward achieve his greatest potential.
Kind regards,
Mark Smith
Headmaster
