Updated Arrangements for the 2021-2022 Academic Year
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is our sincere hope that you are taking the necessary precautions to keep safe. As we approach the start of the new Academic Year 2021-2022, the school’s administration eagerly anticipates the resumption of face-to-face classes. We encourage all our parents/guardians to have their sons vaccinated (ages 12 -18 years) and urge you to consult your family physician for guidance if you have any doubts or concerns regarding the vaccine. We sincerely hope you would have used the opportunity during the recently concluded National Vaccination Blitz targeting secondary aged students, to have your son vaccinated.
We are cognizant that there is a great degree of anxiety due to the uncertainty that the pandemic has caused re the timetable for the reopening of school. Nevertheless, we urge you to kindly work closely with the school to make the best use of the teaching and learning arrangements for the upcoming academic year.
Kindly note the adjustment to the schedule for the start of the new school term. Effective Monday, September 6, 2021 the Christmas Term will commence online (via the Zoom platform) with three days of Registration and Orientation Sessions for Forms 1 – 5 students. All classes will start on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. Please take note of the adjusted date your son/ward will be required to participate in the Virtual Registration/ Orientation Session:
First Form – Monday, September 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Second and Third Forms – Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Fourth and Fifth Forms – Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
NOTE: The Zoom link for the Orientation and Registration Sessions will be sent out to students and parents a day before each session.
Kindly note that all students from the respective year groups are required to attend the orientation sessions as indicated. This activity is mandatory as critical information and training re the online platforms will be facilitated. Note also that students are required to be in uniform when logging on for the sessions and they should be properly groomed.
Following the most recent consultations with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, face-to-face classes will not be facilitated before mid-October. Kindly note that all classes will therefore remain online until otherwise advised.
We appreciate all our parents who make the sacrifice to pay their fees which ensure that the school is able to meet the demands of its operational expenses. Please be reminded that the fee/expense/contribution of $39,600 for the year, for Forms 1 – 5 students, remains consistent with the requirement of the last school year, in recognition of the challenge that many parents are experiencing at this time. The amount may be paid in two instalments:
- 1st instalment of $25,350.00 due on or before September 3, 2021 (an extension of 1 week)
- 2nd instalment of $14,250.00 due on or before January 3, 2022
NOTE: The cost for boarding (for those students who will live on campus) is separate from the fees/expense/contribution stated above.
We apologise for the inconvenience expressed by some parents/guardians attempting to use the Sagicor platform; we are experiencing some difficulties with this option. Please utilise the alternatives for payment which are listed below:
Payments can be made electronically on RenWeb by using the Honorepay system. (Kindly see attached step by step guide entitled “Payment Methods Munro College” re facilitating payments.)
Selected Lasco Financial Services and affiliated outlets will also accept payment. (See attached listings). To pay using Lasco Financial Services, please take along a printed invoice from RenWeb as the Student RenWeb ID and Family ID information will be required to complete the transaction.
