Re: Reopening of School for the Easter Term- Academic Year 2021 – 2022
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I trust that you are all doing well and are keeping safe. I want to wish you all the best both for your family and yourselves for 2022.
This serves to update you regarding the reopening of school for face-to-face engagement for the second term of the Academic Year 2021 – 2022. We are pleased to inform you that we have received permission both from the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, to open for face-to-face classes for ALL students. Therefore, we will continue our plans as set out in the last newsletter which was sent out in December.
Please be reminded of the following:
- All students from the respective year groups are required to attend the face-to-face Orientation and Psychosocial Sessions as indicated below. These activities are mandatory as critical information will be given.
- Monday, January 10, 2022 – 1st and 2nd Forms
- Tuesday, January 11, 2022 – 3rd and 4th Forms
- Wednesday, January 12, 2022 – 5th and 6th Forms
- Regular scheduled classes will begin on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 using a rotational model.
- By now the school fees and boarding fees (for boarders) should have been paid. However, if this has not been done, please do so during this week.
Reminder: You can pay your school fee and boarding fee using (1) the Renweb’s Honorepay platform or (2) at a LASCO Financial Services outlet. If you choose the traditional method of paying at NCB (Acc. # 891008449), then proof of payment must be uploaded and sent to munro.fees@yahoo.com or orlean.powell@munrocollege.edu.jm and should also be retained for on campus registration when school reopens.
- All students are required to have an up-to-date Munro College Identification Card (ID), that will not expire before the end of the academic year. The photographs for the ID cards will be taken in January 2022. The cost of the ID cards for those who have not paid as yet is $900.00 and this is to be paid at the Administrative Office during the first week of the Easter Term.
Again, we encourage you to counsel your sons about their dress/uniform, hair, speech and their general behaviour and deportment. Parents and students are being encouraged to partner with the administration to ensure the school’s academic, behavioural and dress code standards are maintained as we prepare to return to face-to-face. The school will take a zero-tolerance approach to unkempt hair or high hair with faded sides, in accordance with the grooming policy. Hair must be low cut and be on one level.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to working with you throughout the rest of the academic year.
Kind regards,
Mark Smith
Headmaster
